Another colourful feather on Hon. Uko Umoh’s fitting cap

There could be no better caption for a script on a leader who prepared himself for service and leadership than the late legendary reggae music icon, Bob Marley’s hit titled ‘Who The Cap Fit’
Hon Uko Umoh has written his name in gold on the sand of time during his tenure as the Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area.
He has provided leadership that is result oriented, allaying people’s fear on the essence of local government system in the country.
Under his watch communities have been reconnected to national grid, dry taps are gushing, rural roads graded and Primary Health Centres renovated.
No wonder his community, Ikot Akpabio, recognized him with the Utuenikang Ikot Akpabio title during the 2025 Ikot Akpabio day celebration.
Two months after, he bags Honourary Doctorate Degree by London Bridge Business School (LBBS-UK), an honour, Hon (Dr) Uko Umoh described as a call to do more, serve better, and remain committed to the peace, unity, and development of Etinan Local Government Area.
Reacting to the honour bestowed on the chairman, the Leader of the 8th Etinan Legislative Council, Hon Ekerete Umoh,extended heartfelt congratulatory message from members of the Legislative Council to the Chairman.
He described the conferment as a testament to his hard work and bridge-building efforts across Etinan and beyond.
“This distinguished award recognizes your outstanding contributions to governance, public service, and community development. Your commitment to excellence, patriotism, and dedication to the people of Etinan have earned you this well-deserved recognition”
The Legislative Council prayed God’s continued blessings, robust health, and guidance as the chairman adds another achievement to his remarkable record.
In a congratulatory message posted on his Facebook page, Mr. Godswill Inam, described the conferment as meritorious.
“The prestigious honours stand as an acknowledgement of your sterling leadership qualities and enduring impactful life of public service. The awards, like many others before them, also serve as an endorsement of your steady character, intellectual acuity and steadfast commitment to the course of the weak and vulnerable in the Etinan LGA and Akwa Ibom state at large .
Prince Enoch Udofia while congratulating the chairman wrote ” We still believe with you, a new Iman is possible”.
For Ukeme Udofia the honour is for a well recommended leadership, “I celebrate you now and always” he wrote.
Hon. Akanuboh Affiah, chairman of AFECO in Etinan local government area, wrote in his congratulatory message “A very big congratulations to the performing chairman of Etinan local government area Hon (Dr) Uko Umoh. Continue to consolidate on our collective mandate and develop Etinan LGA beyond limit”
It has been torrent of prayers for the chairman from well meaning people of the local government area who have seen his raw determination to drag development to our rural communities.
These recognitions from different groups and organisations only point to one thing that the cap of an executive chairman been worn by Hon. (Dr) Uko Umoh fits perfectly on his head.
