ARCH BISHOP IDEM IKON GETS NEW APPOINTMENT

Arch Bishop Idem Ikon, a renowned cleric, has been appointed the first ever chaplain for Etinan Local Government Area.

The Chairman of Council, Hon Uko Umoh, announced this during the December 2025 edition of the Council’s solemn assembly.

Addressing a cross section of workers at the Millennium Hall of the Council, venue of the solemn assembly, the chairman said the monthly religious gathering will take a different dimension following the appointment of a new chaplain.

The chairman took time to appreciate both elected and appointed members of the Council, the Head of Service and all directors, workers and his personal aides for making his work easier throughout the year 2025.

“The councilors are the architect of the peace we enjoy in the council and I deeply appreciate this co-operation and support extended to me.

“We are coming back to work as a team. We are coming back to restore the glory of Etinan”

Hon Uko Umoh called for prayers for those in position of authority especially the governor who has genuine heart of compassion for the people.

In an exhortation taken from Psalm 127 :1-3, Arch Bishop Idem Ikon commended the Council’s leadership for inviting God into its affairs.

“You have invited God to build this local government area and he will build according to his word that he will by no means cast away any man that comes to him”

Earlier, the Head of Service, Mr. Saviour Okon, thanked God for his faithfulness from January to December as well as the workers’ friendly chairman for making the welfare of staff a priority.

There was a distribution of bags of rice and a cash of N 1, 000,000.00 (One million naira only) to civil servants working in the local government area.
