2025: Etinan Council Budgets N4.5b For Capital Expenditure
Etinan Local Government Area has proposed a budget size of N 7,343,322,000.00 (Seven Billion, Three Hundred and Forty Three Million, Three Hundred and Twenty Two Thousand Naira only) for the 2025 fiscal year.
The budget tagged Budget of Transformation shows a slight increase from the 2024 budget outlay of N 6,267,820,000.00 (Six Billion, Two Hundred and Sixty Seven Million, Eight Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira only) due to the effect of the present economic realities in the country.
The Executive Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Hon Uko Umoh presented the 2025 Appropriation Act to the leader and members of the 8th Legislative Council.
According to the Chairman, the capital expenditure for 2025 is N 4,005,500,000.00 (Four Billion, Five million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) while recurrent expenditure is put at N 3, 331,832,000.00 ( Three Billion, Three Hundred and Thirty One Million, Eight Hundred and Thirty Two Thousand Naira Only).
Projected revenue for 2025 is pegged at N 7,343,322,000.00 (Seven Billion, Three Hundred and Forty Three Million, Three Hundred and Twenty Two Thousand Naira only)
The breakdown is as follows Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) N30,000,000.00 ( Thirty Million Naira only), Statutory allocation N 5, 110,000,000.00 (Five Billion, One Hundred and Ten Million Naira only) LG IGR N50,800,000.00 (Fifty Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira only) VAT N1,822,000.00 ( One Million, Eight Hundred and Twenty Two Thousand Naira only) Share of State IGR is put at N201,000,000.00 ( Two Hundred and One Million Naira only)
While FAAC Special Allocation is put at N159, 532,000,00 (One Hundred and Fifty Nine Million, Five Hundred and Thirty Two Thousand Naira Only).
Hon Uko Umoh in his speech said the 2025 budget is to see to the implementation of his programmes and policies as captured in his manifesto.
“we critically looked at areas such as Healthcare, security, safety and welfare improvement,
Education and sports development, Access to water, electricity, and improvement in infrastructure and Rural Commerce.
“Therefore, in the 2025 financial year, we shall make provision for these sectors which we believe will improve the wellbeing of our people”
Responding, the leader of the Legislative Council, Hon Ekerete Umoh assured the Executive Chairman that the legislative council is on the same page with the Executive arm in the development agenda for the Local Government Area.
He congratulated Hon Uko Umoh for being the first Local Government Chairman in the state to present the 2025 Appropriation Act before their respective legislative council and assured him of the full support and co-operation of the legislative arm in the realization of his development agenda for the Local Government Area.
“We will work together to attract development to Etinan, we will work together to empower our people” he declared.
