Tributes as Etinan Legislative Council Holds Valedictory Session In Honour of Late Hon Idorenyin Usoro
It was an outpour of tributes at the hallowed chamber of Etinan Legislative Council during a valedictory session in honour of Late Hon Idorenyin David Usoro.
Mounting the podium, the Vice Chairman of PDP in Uyo Senatorial District, Rt Hon. Inemesit Itina PhD, described the day as a sad one for not only the immediate family and Urban Ward 3 but the entire Etinan local government area.
According to him, the departed politician was an active player in the game of politics both in Etinan and beyond who never disappointed his teeming admirers.
“It is painful to lose such a character but I know that nothing happens without the knowledge of our maker. We will greatly miss him”
Also speaking, Engr Godwin Okpoho, said the departed politician was a leader in deed who was very faithful and perfect in the execution of political strategy.
“He was more of a friend than a cousin despite the age difference. A ready shoulder to lean and a wonderful mentor. He has left an enduring legacy on the sand of times”
For Hon Imaobong Okoko, the Councilor representing Etinan Urban Ward 3 in the 8th Etinan Legislative Council, Hon Idorenyin David Usoro was a visionary leader who dedicated his life selflessly, to the service of his people. “His ability to bring and keep people together was second to none”
The chairman of Association of Former Elected Councilors (AFECO) Hon. Prince Akanuboh Affia said a big vacuum has been created by his demise. He also acknowledged his contributions to building a strong AFECO in the local government as former chairman of AFECO.
In his speech the Leader of the 8th Legislative Council, Hon Ekerete Umoh acknowledged his contributions to development of his community, Ward and the local government as a whole.
The Leader prayed God to grant the departed a peaceful rest in the Lord and grant members of the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Hon Idorenyin David Usoro was a Councilor from 1993-1994 and also served as Supervisor in charge of Agriculture and Special Duties.
High points of the valedictory session was a minute silence and a roll call by the Chairman of AFECO where his name was struck out of AFECO register.
