The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has extended a hand of fellowship to the newly elected executive of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council.
In a congratulatory message signed and released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi congratulated Comrade John and other newly elected executive members on their victory, describing it as a testament to their dedication and commitment to the journalism profession.
The Command noted that the peaceful and credible conduct of the election reflects the maturity and unity within the Akwa Ibom State Council of the NUJ.
The Command expressed its confidence in the new leadership to uphold the ethics of journalism and to foster a more productive relationship between the media and the police force.
The Commissioner of Police reiterated the Command’s readiness to continue its partnership with the NUJ in the fight against crime and the promotion of peace and security in the state.
“We look forward to working closely with Comrade Nsibiet John and his team to ensure that accurate information is disseminated to the public, thereby building a more informed and safe society,” the CP said in the goodwill message.
The Command also used the opportunity to thank the outgoing chairman, Comrade Amos Etuk, for his exemplary service and support during his tenure.
