AKICORP SETS TO REVITALIZE PEACOCK PAINT
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/ CEO) of the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP), Pastor Imo-Abasi Jacob, has given the assurance that the state owned peacock paint will start production in 2025.
Speaking at the Akwa Ibom State Government EXCO Ministerial Briefing/End of the Year Review held at the Government House Banquet hall, the Managing Director said peacock paint will be the first draw down for the 2025 fiscal year.
This submission followed the Governor’s remark that there was an existing market for peacock paint especially as the state was embarking on several building projects both at home and across the nation.
The AKICORP boss who appreciated the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, for giving AKICORP the right to manage all government investments.
Pastor Imo-Abasi Jacob also said that the mandate given to AKICORP by the Governor was to ensure that government investments yields expected dividends for the state.
“At AKICORP, we are preparing Akwa Ibom for a post oil economy by taking advantage of the opportunities in the real estate sector.
“We are looking at a situation where in the next eight to 10 years, revenue for the state comes directly from government investments in various sectors”
Senator Effiong Bob, Rt.Hon Dr Henry Archibong, Chief Assam Assam SAN, Prof Ini Udoka commended the management of AKICORP and urged the corporation to go after managers of government investments who failed to generate revenue for the state.
They also urged AKICORP to drive investment especially in making agricultural products acceptable in both national and international market.
