Etinan gets 1,280 Bags of Rice and 128 Bags of Garri

At a time the nation is facing severe hunger as a result of upsurge of prices of good stuffs in the market, the Akwa Ibom state government is distributing staple foodstuff like rice and Garri to citizens in the 2,272 gazetted villages in the state.

At a press conference a forthnight ago, Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Dr Offiong Offor had disclosed that the state government had taken delivery of 24,000 bags of 25kg of rice and has also added 24,000 to ensure that each village gets 20 bags of rice.

Briefing transition committee chairmen last Saturday, July 27th 2024, Governor Umo Eno announced the addition of Garri to be distributed a long side rice.

Already, some Local Government Areas have started sharing out the palliatives which is only an intervention to ameliorate the hardship faced by the people in recent times.
