Unyime Idem Reiterates Target Of A Thousand Job Opportunities For Akwa Ibom People
As part of fulfillment of his promise to facilitate 1000 jobs for Akwa Ibom people into strategic Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies in 2025, the Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency representative, Rt. Hon Unyime Idem has handed over an appointment letter into the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) to Mr. Ufokobong Michael.
Idem, who handed the beneficiary his employment letter at his residence in Uyo, reiterated that his new target will be implemented alongside his sponsorship of overseas training for 100 Akwa Ibom people, which he instituted in 2024.
Rep. Idem charged Ufokobong Michael to be a good ambassador of Akwa Ibom state in his new place of work and exhibit the virtues of passion, commitment and sincerity.
“Be passionate about your job. You can’t succeed without passion. Be committed. Be sincere. Sincere people make impact, not only in the world of work, but wherever they find themselves. Sincerity brings promotion and elevation. Above all, put God first in all you do. I am a product of God’s grace. You can also be a product of grace in your place of work.”
“Be available. As you go to the ITF, please be a good ambassador of Akwa Ibom state. Be our ears there. Give us information that will help us harness more opportunities for our people.”
“It is my firm belief that in the next 10 to 15 years, we will have Akwa Ibomites as directors, Permanent Secretaries, and others in top management positions in the federal government. This way, we’ll be able to attract federal presence, projects, and programmes to Akwa Ibom state and lessen the burden on the state government.”
“We will also be able to close the quota gap where only a few Akwa Ibomites are in managerial positions in federal MDAs,” Idem said.
Responding, the beneficiary, Ufokobong Michael thanked the federal lawmaker for facilitating his employment and vowed to make him and the state proud by his lifestyle and performance in his new place of work.
Recall that on December 25, 2024, Rep. Idem presented letters of employment to five (5) Akwa Ibomites into the Federal Fire Service, while three received theirs into the National Assembly Service Commission, on January 1, 2025.
