In order to address the problem of inadequate classrooms in public schools, a total of 10 schools in Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency have been chosen to benefit from the construction of 12 classroom block courtesy of Rt. Hon. (Pastor) Unyime Idem.
The foundation laying ceremony was performed on Saturday 18th January, 2025 at Qua Iboe Church Central School Ikot Akpa Nkuk, Ukanafun Local Government Area.
The Projects includes:
1. Central School, Ikot Akpa Nkuk, Ukanafun LGA
2. Community Secondary School, Ikot Inyang no 1, Oruk Anam LGA
3. Government Primary School, Ikot Akpa Idem, Ukanafun LGA
4. Government Primary School, Idung Nneke, Ukanafun LGA
5. Government Primary School, Ibianga/Ikot Ekpuk, Oruk Anam LGA
6. Government Primary School, Ikot Akai, Ukanafun LGA
7. Government Primary School, Ikot Inyang Abia, Ukanafun LGA
8. QIC Group School, Nkek, Ukanafun LGA
9. Maurid Polytechnic, Mbiaso, Nsit Ibom LGA.
10. ICT Centre, Ikot Udo Obobo, Ukanafun LGA
11. 4 km High Court- Obio Ndot Rd in Oruk Anam LGA
The federal Lawmaker who was accompanied by the representative of Ukanafun State Constituency Hon. Elder Emem Etokabasi Udom was warmly received with accolades and commendations as the most performing federal Lawmaker in the history of the federal constituency.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, Hon. Udom noted that Hon Idem is a tireless and patriotic Illustrious son of the constituency that deserves commendations judging from his conspicuousness performance as a federal lawmaker.
Hon. Udom recalled the federal Lawmaker’s landmark empowerments to include facilitating national employments of youths, donation of motor bikes, cars, artisanal equipments, solar- Powered street lights, house hold equipments, grants, scholarships, business supports and recently the electric-powered motorcycle among others to his constituents, adding that, this is the first of its kind in the history of the constituency hence a further recommendation for more service delivery.
The projects according to Hon. Idem is slated to be delivered within four months of it’s foundation laying ceremony.
The event also featured another donation of the electric motor bikes to traditional rulers, the Head teacher of the Q.I.C central School, Ikot Akpa Nkuk Ukanafun and lots of commendations from Stakeholders, traditional rulers, youth and women of the Area.
