Tears of Joy as Governor Umo Eno Hands over House to A widow in Etinan

Tears of Joy flowed freely at Mbioto Ekpene Ituen, Etinan Local Government Area, as the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, handed over a two bedroom bungalow to a widow, Mrs Ekaette Ikon.

Receiving the house on behalf of people, the Chairman of Etinan local government area, Hon Uko Umoh, thanked the governor for building homes for widows in the state.
“It goes to confirm the word of God that when the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice. No one would have expected that this woman will have a home built for her at no cost in her life time.
“If in two years the governor has built nine homes for widows in Etinan, you can only expect 12 home from the 12 wards in the remaining two years of his first tenure. Your Excellency, let me on behalf of the people of Etinan assure you that your victory come 2027 is guaranteed in Etinan local government area.”

The chairman also added a television set and gas cooker for the widow, Mrs Ekaette Ikon while the Vice Chairman also promised to buy a set of kitchen utensils for the woman and her family as well as improve the internal decorations.

In an emotion laden voice, the beneficiary, Mrs Ekaette Ikon, thanked the governor immensely for coming to her rescue in providing her with a decent accommodation. She prayed for safety and good success for the governor and his team.

In an overview of the facilities in the home, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Humanitarian Affairs, Hon Nsikan Umoekpo said the building is a two bedroom bungalow complete with a solar powered water, solar powered electricity and well furnished.

In a vote of thanks, the leader of the 8th Etinan Legislative Council Hon Ekerete Umoh, appreciated the governor for bringing development to the grassroots.

He appealed to the governor to construct more rural roads within the rural communities to connect the people to nearby markets.

The Village Head of Mbioto Ekpene Ituen, Eteidung Samuel Etukapan, said the governor has embarrassed him positively by bringing such a lofty project to the poor widow.

Commissioning the house on behalf of the governor, Barr Kufre Udosen, thanked the people for the great support to the ARISE Agenda in the last two years.

Barr Udosen who is a Special Adviser to the governor on Political and Social Reorientation also made a cheque presentation of N500,000.00 (five hundred thousand naira only) on ehalf of the government of Akwa Ibom State.

The governor’s representative also promised a scholarship grant up to the university level for the daughter of the widow, Miss Unwana Ikon.

A donation of N15, 000.00(fifteen thousand naira only) came from the village head of Mbioto on behalf of the community while the governor’s personal assistant from the ward, Evangelist Aniefiok Titus, donated N50, 000.00. (fifty thousand naira only)
