The Personal Assistant to the governor for Ward 5, Evangelist Aniefiok Titus presents customized exercise book to a pupil of Q.I.C Central School Mbioto Ekpene Ituen

Public Primary School Teachers in in Etinan Local Government Area have applauded the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, for making education a priority in the ARISE Agenda economic blueprint.

At the presentation of customized exercise book procured by the state government to public primary schools in southern Iman ward 5, Etinan Local Government Area,the teachers appreciated the governor for the numerous welfare packages put in place for teachers by the state government.

At The Apostolic Central School Iwor Etor/ Ikot Akpan Ntembom it was a unanimous chorus of eight years for the governor by the teachers.

A Primary Six teacher, Mr. Vincent Etuk said he was particularly happy with the way and manner the governor pays attention to the Primary School section especially in the payment of different entitlements to teachers.

“Just recently the governor announced that he is going to pay wardrobe allowance to primary school teachers. That has never happened before where teachers are recognized as people who deserves to dress well and look good”

In the same vein, Mr Saturday John, a teacher at The Apostolic Church School Ikot Ekot said the last time teachers were remembered was when the free and compulsory education was introduced in 2008.

“These children are from poor homes, some do not have parents or are staying with their aged grandparent who do have the money to buy books but today the governor has made books available to them even in remote rural areas. I really appreciate his kind gesture and prayed that he succeeds in transforming the sector to an enviable height”

At Government Primary School Ikot Etekpo Mary Odoro said their commitment and zeal to impact knowledge is second to none as the teachers are well motivated by the state government.

 

 

The head teacher of QIC Central School, Mbioto Ekpene Ituen Mrs Affiong Etuk, head teacher of The Apostolic Central School Iwor Etor/Ikot Akpan Ntembom, Mr.Otobong Udoudiong, head teacher of The Apostolic Church School Ikot Ekot, Mrs Sabbath Isong and head teacher of Government Primary School Ikot Etekpo Mrs Ekaete Whyks in their separate remarks appreciated the governor for maintaining the free and compulsory education policy of the state with an additional tonic which is the welfare of primary schools teachers.

In each of the schools visited, the Personal Assistant to the governor for Ward 5, Evangelist Aniefiok Nyong Titus who represented the governor charged the pupils take their studies serious and work harder as the future is very bright before them.

He described education as the foundation and bedrock of both self and community development and called the children as well as parents to take full advantage of the free education policy of the state government.

It would be recalled that the state government through the ministry of education flagged off the distribution of customized exercise books at the Senatorial district in June 2024 with a charge that Personal Assistants to the governor in the 368 wards will assist in the distribution exercise.
