Operatives of Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested two suspected cultists after a successful raid of their hideout.
The suspects according to a press release made available to newsmen by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John are Godwin Udo Sunday, 35 years and Utibe Akpan, 32years.
Both suspects are residents of Ikot Obio Ekpong village.
In an intelligence- led operation, the police also recovered illegal firearms.
“Acting on a credible information, Operatives moved to Ikot Obio Ekpong village in Mkpat Enin LGA where they successfully raided a suspected cult hideout. During the operation, the team recovered three locally-made pistols.
Preliminary investigations are ongoing with the goal of arresting other suspects connected to this illegal armoury. The police command is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents. Further developments will be communicated as they arise” the release concludes.
