It is no longer news that President
Joe Biden is out of the Presidential race for a second term, however reactions from prominent American leaders have continued to make headlines.
President Biden on Sunday announced his withdrawal from the presidential race slated for November 4th 2024.
Biden has been in public office since 1975 and was vice president between 2008and 2016 under President Obama’s presidency.
He defeated President Donald Trump in the 2020 general election thereby making Trump a one term president of the United States of America.
Reacting to his withdrawal from the presidential race, Barack Obama while commending Joe Biden for his recorded achievements in office described Donald Trump’s administration as chaotic characterized by falsehood and division.
“More than that, President Biden pointed us away from the four years of chaos, falsehood, and division that had characterized Donald Trump’s administration.
“Through his policies and his example, Joe has reminded us of who we are at our best — a country committed to old-fashioned values like trust and honesty, kindness and hard work; a country that believes in democracy, rule of law, and accountability; a country that insists that everyone, no matter who they are, has a voice and deserves a chance at a better life” Obama’s statement read.
President Biden was born November 20, 1942. At the age of 29, he was elected as one of the youngest senators in American history to represent Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009.
