Association of Former Elected Councilors in Etinan has inducted the chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Hon Uko Umoh, as its grand patron.

AFECO led by Hon Prince Akanuboh Affiah CPM, also called on the Chairman to keep up with his vision of developing the rural communities in the local government area.

Addressing the Chairman and members of AFECO in the Chairman’s office, Hon Affiah, said the body has followed the developmental strides of the chairman since he took office in October 2024 and is very satisfied with the progress so far made by the council under his leadership.

“We have seen your effort in repositioning Etinan for economic growth and prosperity. We are witnesses to the number of roads graded in our respective wards, the electrification, water and ongoing construction of an ultra-modern motor park projects.

“We want to commend you for the initiative to get these projects working for our people. We are proud to say that you are indeed our best foot forward as far as local government administration is concern.

On the appointment of Hon Uko Umoh as AFECO grand patron, Hon Affiah said it is based on the provisions of AFECO’s constitution that a serving Local Government Council Chairman shall be a grand patron for the association.

“AFECO congratulates you on this noble appointment and wishes you the very best as you accepts to render your selfless services to the good people of Iman Ibom in particular and humanity at large”

Responding, the Chairman of Etinan Local Government, Hon Uko Umoh, thanked AFECO for the honour done on him.

He described the visit by members of AFECO as a morale booster,assuring them that, he will not let them down as chairman of Etinan local government area.

Hon Uko Umoh used the opportunity to highlights his achievements and plans for the future which covers all sectors of the local government economy.

High point of the visit was the decoration of the Chairman with AFECO uniform.
