The Executive Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Hon. Uko Umoh has called on support groups to be involved in his drive to move Etinan local government to an enviable height .
The Chairman stated this when he spoke with the Executives and members of a front line support group, Iman Ibom Patriots who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The council boss reiterated his administration commitment in transforming the Iman Ibom people in the area of skills training.
Hon. Uko Umoh hinted that a master plan to transform Etinan into a destination of choice will soon be unveiled.
The council chairman highlighted some of his plans to include training of women and youths in various skills like carpentry, fashion, plumbing, hair cut and other relevant skills that will improve on the wellbeing of Etinan people.
On the economy of Etinan Hon Uko Umoh promised to improve on the internally generated revenue (IGR) to enhance service delivery.
The chairman frowned at those who vehemently refused to pay their monthly taxes on their business premises and promised to go after them.
The council boss informed the group that right now he is building a befitting motor park, remodeling the Etinan roundabout and Etinan market for commercial purposes .
Speaking earlier, the coordinator of the group, Amb. Sampson Akpan told the Executive chairman, Hon. Uko Umoh that they were in his office to show appreciation and solidarity over his pragmatic leadership style.
The Iman Ibom Patriot helms man informed the chairman that, so far Etinan was the first to present her 2025 appropriation bills to the legislature, which according to him shows readiness and willingness to provide dividends.
The group commended the chairman, Hon. Uko Umoh for taking responsibility of clearing the sidewalks of Etinan / Uyo road as well as bringing Christmas closer to the people by decorating the Etinan roundabout.
In her remarks, the Vice Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Honourable Imaobong Michael thanked the Patriots for standing by the chairman before during and after the election of October 5th, 2024.
She added her voice on the need for all and sundry to support the revenue drive of the council as we look forward to making Etinan a cynosure of all eyes in the state.
“We can only make Etinan to be like Uyo if we pay our taxes. I implore you all to support the chairman to execute his good ideas for the people of Etinan Local Government Area” she concluded.
