COMMISSIONER OF POLICE SOLICITS POLICE RETIREES’ COOPERATION IN FIGHT AGAINST CRIME
Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare fsi, has urged retired police officers in the state to cooperate with appropriate authorities around them to ensure that crime is reduced and criminals are expunged from the society.
He made the call on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, while receiving retired Police Officers in the State on a Courtesy visit at the Command Headquarters.
The officers under the umbrella of the National Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria (NARPON) were led by their Chairperson, ASP Chief Anselem Eyo (Rtd).
He further urged the retirees to be bridge builders, peaceful, and law-abiding in their respective communities.
He reminded them of their professional code of conduct and stressed that they are still bound by those laws.
The CP also assured them on the issue of contributory pension scheme, that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM is working tirelessly to ensure something meaningful is achieved.
While noting their demands, he assured the Association of his support and promised to give them the needed visibility and publicity.
Earlier, Chief Anselem Eyo thanked the CP for receiving and hosting them, expressing their willingness to cooperate and support the Command’s activities.
He solicited for support and cooperation of the Command in the affairs of the retired Police Officers in Akwa Ibom State.
