AKWA IBOM TO DEPLOY MOBILE CLINICS BY DECEMBER 2024

The stage is set for the launch of a groundbreaking state emergency response service.

This exciting development was announced when the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer (MD/ CEO) of the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP) Mr Imo-Abasi Jacob, played host to a team from Emi Prime Limited.

According to him, this will mark a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to enhance healthcare delivery.

Emi Prime Ltd was at the corporation headquarters with a proposal aimed at strengthening the state’s healthcare system.

Speaking on behalf of Emi Prime Ltd, Ruth Akagu explained that the proposed project aligned with the development priorities embedded in ARISE agenda of the Umo Eno-led administration.
She said that the state was expected to provide a conducive environment and demonstrate its capacity to deliver and manage the project effectively.

The MD/CEO who was represented by the Executive Director Agricultural Investments, Pastor Godwin Ukwat, reassured the Emi Prime team that the Governor, a successful entrepreneur, was committed to providing the necessary support, security, and leadership to ensure the project’s success. He emphasized the Governor’s dedication to improving the overall well-being of Akwa Ibom people, with a focus on prompt access to efficient healthcare services.

He said that the Governor had acknowledged the importance of a functioning healthcare, hence the step to address the gaps in ensuring that citizens had prompt access to quality service through emergency response.

He went on to disclose that the state has procured ambulances that will serve as mobile clinics. This innovative mobile health service, according to the AKICORP boss is slated to be launched by December, marking a significant step forward in the state’s healthcare journey.

He reiterated the State’s readiness to partner with well meaning individuals and organizations in its bid to deliver democratic dividends to the good people of the state.

Also at the meeting were the Executive Director Other Investments Barr Ben Udowa as well as other management staff of the corporation.
