A’Ibom Police command plans clampdown on vehicles with illegal tinted glass, concealed number plates

Motorists in Akwa Ibom state have been warned to desist from use of illegal tinted glass, siren and concealed number plates on their vehicles by the Akwa Ibom state command of the Nigeria Police.

In a press release signed by ASP Timfon John ANIPR,
Police Public Relations Officer for Commissioner of Police quotes the Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara as having noted with dismay a rise in the use of these items on private and unauthorized vehicles.

According to the release, the police boss views the uprise in the use of tinted glass, siren and concealed number plates on vehicles as constituting a significant risk to public safety and order in the state

“It makes it difficult for law enforcement officials to identify vehicles involved in criminal activities, thereby hindering their efforts to maintain a safe environment for Akwa Ibomites and residents in the State.”

The press release therefore warns that the police command will begin a clampdown on violators of the regulation on the use of illegal tinted glass, concealed plate number and sirens in the state.

“We urge members of the public to comply with these regulations and work with law enforcement officials to maintain a safe environment for all. Together, we can make Akwa Ibom State a better place for everyone” the release concluded
