A’Ibom Govt boosts healthcare delivery with model health centres

Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Pastor Umo Eno, has assured that the health needs of the people remain a priority of his administration.

The governor stated this at Odot, Nsit Atai Local Government Area where he commissioned a model health centre built and equipped by his administration.

He reiterated his commitment to the provision of quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to all Akwa Ibom residents, especially the rural dwellers in the state.

Represented at the event by the deputy governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, the governor explained that his commitment to rural healthcare is evident in the investments of the state government in the provision of medical equipment and infrastructure in the state, urging host communities to ensure they are protected.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Augustine Vincent Umoh, explained that the newly constructed hospital building is sufficiently equipped with modern-day medical equipment with competent personnel for optimal service delivery.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Martins Akpan, applauded Governor Umo Eno’s giant strides in primary healthcare delivery in the state.

A cross-section of the people of Nsit Atai who spoke with National Witness thanked the Governor for the timely execution and high-quality delivery of the project, pledging to protect and maintain the facility.
