Federated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council, have unveiled a lineup of activities to mark the 2024 Press Week with the theme “A Conversation on Local Government Autonomy”.
Briefing journalists recently, the Chairman of the 2024 Press Week Committee of the Chapel, Mr. Edet Edet, revealed that it will be a week long event starting from 11th till 17th of November, 2024 which promises to be the most memorable Press Week in the history of the chapel.
Mr. Edet Edet disclosed that activities lined up for the Press Week include seminar/symposium, visit to destitute homes, free medical outreach and indoor games.
The unveiling of the 3rd edition of Federated Digest Magazine, a flagship publication of the Chapel, will also form part of the activities for the Week as well as a novelty match between the Federated Lions and the Pen Pushers of the NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council.
The week long event according to Comrade Edet, will climax on November 14, 2024 with a thanksgiving service at Breakthrough Palace Mission located at No. 21 Itu Road.
In an interaction with the Chairman of the Chapel, Mr Nsibiet John, the theme for the event being ” A Conversation on Local Government Autonomy” is an intelligent one and will afford journalists as well as the general public the chance to tap from the knowledge pool of the seasoned speakers that will do justice to the topic. He further enjoined all journalist and people from all walks of life to grace the event.
