2024 LG polls: Uko Umoh Gets Support Of Village Youth Presidents

Youth presidents from the 64 villages in Etinan Local Government Area, have declared Hon. Uko Umoh as their sole chairmanship candidate for the upcoming Local Government election.

The Youth Presidents who thronged the chairman’s house in Ikot Akpabio also passed a vote of confidence on the chairman for his outstanding performance as Transition Chairman.

According to them, they were moved by numerous achievements of the chairman to pass a vote of confidence on him as well as declare support for him.

In a written address presented by the President-General of Forum of Village Youth Presidents Etinan Chapter, Obong (Elder) Donald Donald, the forum pledged their loyalty to the administration of Hon. Uko Umoh with a promise to work with him as well as work for him in the coming months.

The forum also declared Hon. Uko Umoh as their grand patron with a charge on him to do more for the people of Etinan local government

“We are here to support you and your administration. We wish to pledge that we will work for you, with you, cooperate and support your administration in all areas of interest.

“Our meeting here today is not by accident but a grand decision by nature because you deserve it. We hereby pass vote of confidence on you as our chairman.

“We are optimistic that your administration will make much more impacts on the lives of Iman Ibom youths and transform this local government to an enviable height.” Donald said.

Responding, Hon. Uko Umoh, the Transition Chairman of Etinan local government area, applauded the forum for the confidence reposed in him and assured them that their visit will boost him to do more.

The chairman who laid out part of his blueprints for Etinan, said he was committed to carrying everybody along once elected.

“I did not opt for chairmanship to enrich myself but to touch lives and I am committed to doing that.

“Within the remaining few months, I will construct a modern motor park. Already over seven thousand blocks and over twenty trips of sand are there.

“I want you to join me to reposition Etinan so that we all can benefit. I must confess that this is the first group that has endorsed me for election and I do not take this for granted.

“I accept your decision to make me your grand patron and I promise to support you in all your activities.” The chairman said.

Earlier in his remark, the former PDP chapter chairman, Elder Gabriel Akpan described Uko Umoh as a man who has right the wrongs in the local government.

He noted that Hon. Uko Umoh is a special gift to the people of Etinan and also pledged his support for him.

Also speaking, Hon. Emmanuel Titus, former council secretary, urged the youth presidents to play politics with integrity, warning them that it was not a demonstration of smartness when they deceive people in the name of politics.

“When you want to support somebody, assess the qualification and background of the person. Uko Umoh was my classmate and because of his achievements so far, he will take Etinan higher.”

The Political leader of Northern Iman ward 2, Obong Donald Uko declared himself as a guarantor for Hon. Uko Umoh and assured the forum that the confidence reposed in the chairman will not fail you people.
