Another set of four Akwa Ibom youth have left the shores of Nigeria for China courtesy of Rt Hon Unyime Idem.

The four fall under the 9th Batch of Akwa Ibom youths to be sent outside the country for further training by the federal lawmaker.

They will undergo advance training on Intelligent Transportation and Infrastructure as well as International Health.

According to the federal lawmaker the overseas training is in fulfilment of his commitment to train 100 youths for global competitiveness.

“This is in fulfillment of my commitment to train 100 youths to gain mastery of relevant skills for self-sufficiency and global competitiveness, as well as raise the next generation of leaders in Akwa Ibom state”

The four trainees are; Endurance Imoh Job, Samuel Etim Udoh,
Ukeme Ephraim Umoren and Nyakno Macaulay Udo.

Rt. Hon Idem who chairs the House of Representatives’ committee on Public Procurement reminded the beneficiaries of the scheme that, the world is a global village, so there’s need for them to be exposed to modern technology to be able to compete with their counterparts globally, so wherever they have an opportunity to work, they will not lag behind.

“To achieve this, I’m targeting to train and equip a minimum of 100 Akwa Ibomites to be self reliant and to be able to compete with their counterparts across the world.

I’ve taken this step because what is helping me today to do what I’m able to do and achieve is the level of training and exposure I’ve garnered over the years across the globe, and it is my desire that they will do better than me.

I also intend that the training will be done periodically in order to achieve the 100 targeted number” he reiterated.

He charged them to be of good conduct as an ambassador of Akwa Ibom state and the country, Nigeria.”

“I wish you a safe stay throughout the training period and journey mercies, to and from China. Congratulations.”
