A huge relief has come to staff of Local Education Authority in Etinan as Universal Basic Education Commission is set to construct an office block in the Council.
The cherry news was broken when the Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon Anietie Etuk paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area in his office
Rt. Hon Etuk said SUBEB came to break the news and also ask for a land from the council to erect a brand new office for staff under the Local Education Authority.
“I am here today to ask the Chairman of Etinan Council for a land for the building of an office block to accommodate staff under the Local Education Authority in Etinan.
“It will be a 12 rooms office block. We are looking for a land of about 2000 square meters. It is a contract that has a life span of three months and all things being equal the building will be ready for use by June 2025” he stated.
The SUBEB Chairman thanked the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, for the prompt payment of state’s counterpart funds which has made the state a beneficiary of UBEC projects.
Responding, the Chairman of Council, Hon Uko Umoh thanked SUBEB for chosing Etinan as one of the beneficiaries under the SUBEB/UBEC 2023 work plan.
He expressed joy that staff under the Local Education Authority will upon completion of the new building have a conducive environment to work thereby improving their productivity.
“Let me sincerely thank SUBEB/ UBEC for coming to our aid. Since coming on board, we have carried out intervention works on the building housing the Local Education Authority staff. With this development, staff will now have a conducive environment to work while official documents will be saved from adverse weather and termites”
