The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has restated its commitment to ensuring the safety of all residents in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, gave the assurance in a press release made available to newsmen in Uyo, following the arrest of an armed robbery and defilement suspect.
The suspect, Happiness Alphonsus Iseyen, a 26-year-old male from INI Local Government Area was arrested on August 28, 2025 following a tip-off received on August 27 from a concerned citizen.
On August 28, 2025, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command arrested a suspect linked to a case of defilement and armed robbery in the state.
Upon a search of the suspect, a locally made pistol and one cartridge were recovered from his possession.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command is conducting a discreet investigation to arrest other members of the gang and recover their operational weapons.
