Akwa Ibom people have been assured of even spread of infrastructural development by the state government.
The governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, stated this at the Oro Town Square meeting held on Saturday 5th April, 2025.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of Oro people drawn from the five Local Government Areas of Oron Federal Constituency, the governor emphasized that his administration is determined not to leave any federal Constituency behind in the distribution of infrastructure in the state.
“We are determined not to leave any federal Constituency behind. In our review meeting yesterday in Uyo, we looked at distribution of road projects across Federal Constituencies and Senatorial Districts and we saw that there is need for balancing where there were deficits.
“There is equity in the distribution of infrastructure, balancing may be difficult but you will agree with me that, more than any government before us we have carried all local government areas along in the distribution of infrastructure”.
Speaking on the need for the Town Square meeting, Governor Umo Eno said it was to enable the people and the government to meet ahead of the 2026 budget which will be named the people’s budget.
“I don’t know what else you wanted to say that will be different from what we have in this document. Oro Representatives have spoken through this document and we will implement.We are doing our best to ensure that development goes round the state.
“We swore with our hands on the Bible to be fair to all persons. We are promoting the ARISE Agenda across party lines. It does not matter where you are, we will bring development to your doorsteps” he assured.
To the excitement of the people, he announced that the Nsit Atai -Okobo- Oron road which had become a campaign item will be commissioned by his administration very soon.
“Let me not fail to mention Nsit Atai -Okobo -Oron road which have seen three successive governments and almost become a campaign item but with the finisher’s anointing, that road will be commissioned.
We promise to run an all inclusive government and no part if the state will be left behind”.
The Town Square meeting also witnessed the presentation of cheques running into millions of naira to farmers, traders and entrepreneurs from the five local government areas of Oron Federal Constituency.
Stakeholders of Oro extraction in their separate goodwill messages appreciated the governor for giving Oro a pride of place in the scheme of things in the state and assured him of the support of Oro people in the 2027 general elections.
