“Let’s Do It Together” Uko Umoh Urges As He Receives PDP Flag

In line with his campaign slogan, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship candidate for Etinan Local Government Area, Hon. Uko Umoh has called on the people to join him to bring development to the area.

Hon Umoh stated this when he interacted with newsmen shortly after he received the flag of his party as the Chairmanship candidate in the October 5th 2024 Local Government election in the state

Flanked by his wife, Emily, and the his running mate Hon Imaobong Michael, Hon Uko Umoh emphasized the need for all to come on board in bringing development to the land of Etinan.

“Let me say here that our past leaders did so much to attract development to Etinan but it appears to me that people did not really give them full support they needed to make greater impact.

“That is why I am using this wonderful opportunity to call on all sons and daughters of Iman Ibom to join the incoming administration in attracting development to Etinan. Etinan was created in 1976 and we must have something to show for this number of years.

“I therefore call on all, irrespective of party affiliations, tribe or zone to join hands with us and ensure that first of all, there is peace and development in Etinan Local Government Area in the next dispensation” he added.

At the event to hand over flags to chairmanship candidate to flag off PDP campaign for the local government elections, Governor Umo Eno charged all candidates to focus on issues in their campaigns.

He urged them to prioritize the needs of the people and present realistic plans for development, encouraging them to maintain integrity and avoid distractions.

The governor Eno called on the candidate to build their campaign on ideas and solutions rather than personal attacks.

With the official flag-off, Hon. Uko Umoh and Hon. Imaobong Michael are poised to carry the PDP’s message of progress and unity across the Local Government Area as they seek to secure the mandate of the people.

In a chat with National Witness at the venue of the reception in Ikot Akpabio, Etinan Local Government Area, the coordinator of Etinan Traders Union, Comrade Brown Uko Isaac described the event of the day as historic and expressed optimism that Hon Uko Umoh’s reign will be impactful.

In a comment on WhatsApp group, a supporter of the PDP candidate in Etinan, Prince Iniubong Ekong also described the flag presentation to Hon Uko Umoh as the seal of hope.

Hon Uko Umoh has enjoyed support of the people following his five star performance as Transition Chairman. As he transits, it is the expectation of the people that he will consolidate on those achievements for the good of all.
