Hon Uko Umoh To Commission Ultra Modern Motor Park With New Buses

The Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Hon Uko Umoh, has announced the acquisition of 12 new buses to mark the official commissioning of Etinan Ultra Modern Motor Park.

The Chairman declared that the Motor Park has been completed but that it will not be commissioned untill the buses arrive.

Addressing worshippers and guests at a thanksgiving church service to mark the 65th independence anniversary of Nigeria, the chairman of Council, Hon Uko Umoh also announced that plan is underway for a sustainable economic empowerment of Etinan people.

According to the council boss, he will follow the footsteps of his mentor, the governor of Akwa Ibom state, in choosing beneficiaries to avoid the mistake of releasing money into wrong hands.

Hon Umoh also hinted that the ultra modern motor park has been completed but will be commissioned with 12 buses to flag off operations at the motor Park.

“The motor park is complete but I cannot open an empty park. Therefore I will empower 12 persons with 12 buses drawn from the 12 political wards in Etinan”

The chairman thanked the church for always praying for leaders and also commended the Paramount Ruler of Etinan, His Royal Majesty Edidem Aniefiok Monday Akpanobong for always standing by his administration in the last one year.

In his sermon drawn from Psalms 33 :12 – 22, the Iwor Etor District Pastor of Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev Etukudo Essien called on Nigerians to put God first for an all round recovery.

Rev Essien recalled when Nigeria was the envy of the world in every sector of the nation’s economic life and challenged today’s leaders to re-establish their relationship with God to regain their lost glory.

The service featured high praises and thanksgiving, presentation of excellent award to the chairman by the women’s fellowship as well as prayers for the state led by Reverend Itohowo Ukoeyen and prayer for the local government area led by Reverend Anietie Sunday Ekpo while Revered Etukudo Essien prayed for the nation.

The inter-denominational church service was well attended by political stakeholders including wife of the Chairman, Mrs Emily Uko Umoh, Vice Chairman, Hon Imaobong Michael, Leader of Legislative Council, Hon Ekerete Umoh,Secretary of Council, Hon Idorenyin Okon Udo, Councillors, Supervisors, Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Directors and staff of the Council.

Others were the Paramount Ruler of Etinan, Edidem Aniefiok Monday Akpanobong who led the traditional fathers, Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udo, Obong Ini Obot, Comrade Israel Tommy, Dr.Anietie Attai, Obong Ekuyik Ekong, Chairman of AFECO, Hon Akanuboh Affia and members, Dean, College of Personal Aide to the governor from Etinan Comrade Oku Amos among others.
