...Uko Umoh Renovates, Hands Over Ndon Utim Primary Health Centre
…Councilor Gives Constituents Water
It was an emotional day for the people of Ndon Utim in Urban Ward 2 as the Chairman of Council, Hon Uko Umoh, handed over a renovated Primary Health Centre to the community.
Speaker after speaker poured encomiums on the chairman of Council for wiping the tears of many years by renovating the health centre for the community.
According to the Village Head of Ndon Utim, Eteidung Joshua Fred Otong, Hon.Uko Umoh, has given them more reasons to believe in government.
“Thank you Mr Chairman, thank you for wiping away our teara in Ndon Utim. During your days as Transition Committee Chairman, you renovated this water for us. We will support you and every other person you bring to us in 2027” the Village Head declared.
The Woman Leader of Ndon Utim, Mrs Etim Emmanson, Mr. Elijah Thompson, Supervisor for Agriculture in the Etinan and Mrs Diana Mbat, Councilor representing Urban Ward 2 all thanked the chairman for making the health centre conducive for health care services.
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman of Council,Hon Imaobong Michael who is also from Urban Ward 2, appreciated the chairman for the good works he had done in the ward since he came on board.
She recalled that Ndon Utim had suffered political neglect for too long underscoring the importance of the intervention by the Council.
“Mr. Chairman, for too long Ndon Utim had been forgotten. Thank you for renovating this health centre to make it the first port of call during emergency even at night”
Earlier in a welcome address, the supervisor for Health, Hon Emmanuel Sampson, said the renovation is targeted at bringing health care delivery closer to the people, reduce maternal and child mortality, strengthen routine immunization and provide timely treatment to common illnesses.
Hon Sampson went on to describe the local government effort as a landmark in the journey to strengthen health care delivery at the grassroots.
” The renovation of this health facility reflects government’s commitment to ensure that quality health care is accessible to our people right here in their communities”
Also speaking on behalf of management and staff of the facility, Ekereobong Daniel Ikobo, thanked the chairman for what they described as timely intervention at the health centre.
She used the opportunity to call for installation of solar light to enable them preserve vaccines, re-wiring of the centre, connection of water to the centre for convenience as well a perimeter fence to secure the facility.
Responding, the chairman ,Hon Uko Umoh, who was accompanied by his wife, Emily, thanked the people of Ndon Utim for opening their arms to welcome development and his entourage.
He called on them to take ownership of the facility and protect what has been put in place for the good of all members of the community.
The chairman used the opportunity to call on the people to participate in the ongoing INEC Continuous Voter Registration exercise as well as the state government portals to be eligible for benefits from the state government.
In a related development, the Councilor representing Southern Iman Ward 4 in Etinan Legislative Council, Hon Daniel Udo Simeon, has renovated moribund water facility and handed it over to Ayam Efa community.
The faulty water facility was solely renovated by the Councilor while the Council provided the community with a generating set to power the water pump.
Hon Daniel Simeon thanked the Council Chairman for the support that has enabled him to fulfil his number one manifesto to the people of southern Iman Ward 4.
