Governor Umo Eno applauds Uko Umoh On Inclusive Leadership
The Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Hon Uko Umoh, has been give a pat on the back for inclusive leadership at the third tier of government.
The commendation was given by the governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, when he visited the council to flag off the distribution of ARISE Free food for the vulnerable in the local government area.
Represented by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Lady Emem Ibanga, the governor observed that Etinan is just one of the few local government areas so far visited where both the executive and legislative arm were present to receive the entourage.
The governor disclosed that the free food is just an intervention by the state government to cushion the high cost of living and urged the people to engage in farming as that remains the long term solution to the problem of hunger.
Also speaking, the managing director of Akwa Ibom Bulk Purchasing Agency, Hon Unyime Etim, said the distribution has no political affiliation and it covers all the 12 political wards in the local government area.
Responding, the chairman, Hon Uko Umoh, thanked the governor for his numerous intervention which has gone a long way to strengthen the family in these difficult times.
Hon Umoh specifically thanked the governor for the release of 300 bags of 10kg rice donated by Dangote Group to Etinan which was shared among widows and People Living With Disabilities.
He assured the governor that the food items will be distributed equally to all the beneficiaries in a peaceful and rancor free atmosphere.
