A former member of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon (Pastor) Samuel Ikon has declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Pastor Umo Eno PhD in 2027.

Ikon, a former speaker of the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly made the declaration when he officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s office in Southern Iman Ward 5, Etinan local government area.

He called for support from the people of Southern Iman Ward 5 towards the full implementation of the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno which he described as a comprehensive agenda for the development of the state.

He started that the movement of former PDP members into the APC is in what he described as ‘an enlightened state interest’ assuring members of APC that, their coming is to strengthen the party and set it on the path of victories in all electoral contest.

“We are not coming to hijack the party but to join you to strengthen the party”he declared.

Welcoming former PDP members to the APC, the leader of APC in the ward, Hon Kuyik Ekong thanked former members of the PDP for embracing APC. He pointed out that 90 percent of APC members were once PDP members including himself.

Hon Ekong, a former Transition Chairman of Etinan Local government Area, appreciated the new members of the party for behaving like brothers in the past which has made their integration seamless.
” Whatever you do, remember that there is tomorrow. There are some members of PDP who are unable to join the APC because of their past actions against their own brothers.”

Obong Jordan Nsekpong’ thanked the governor of Akwa Ibom state, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, for choosing APC as his new political platform.
Obong Nsekpong urged new members of the party to recognize those who laboured to build the party in their respective villages.

Hon Emmanuel Billy on his part said APC is built on justice, peace and unity saying, together APC will be taken to enviable heights in the ward.

Hon Imoh Udoette urged old members of APC in the ward to uphold their good virtue and eschew every bitterness to bring more glory to the party. “Togetherness brings strength and we welcome you all to APC”

The leader of Etinan Legislative Council, Hon Ekerete Umoh, thanked APC members for opening their doors to receive new members. “We are coming to strengthen the party, we are coming with goodies from the government” he stated.

Earlier, the APC Ward Chairman, Mr. Monday Simon said the constitution of APC makes provision for welcoming of new members.

He stated that new members of the party have equal right with other members of the party. “From today we are one, there is no other party in Southern Iman Ward 5” he declared.
