Etinan Paramount Ruler Calls For Attitudinal Change Among Subjects
The Paramount Ruler of Etinan Local Government Area, Edidem Aniefiok Monday Akpanobong has called on his subjects to have a new orientation for economic prosperity and development in the area.
His Royal Majesty stated this when executive and members of Etinan Traders Union led by Mr Brown Uko Isaac paid him a courtesy call at his palace in Nkana Iman, Etinan Local Government Area.
The royal father said the phrase “a New Iman is Possible” coined by the Transition Committee Chairman and PDP candidate, Mr Uko Umoh, will only be possible if the people of Iman Ibom embrace attitudinal change in the way they carry out their daily activities.
“As politicians we must embrace change, traditional institution must embrace change, religious leaders must embrace change and traders must embrace change. That is one way a new Iman will be possible. We all want to see Iman take back its lost glory but it must start with each and every one of us”
“Look at the just concluded party primary election, we fought ourselves from home until it was settled outside by outsiders. In other Local Government Areas it wasn’t like that, they made their choice in-house amicably. May the Lord help us in the task of building a new Iman Ibom”
Earlier, the leadership of the market union who spoke through Eno Friday Udo,
Dora Thompson Oton,
Favour Ubong Utom-Obong,
Mfon Robson Eshiet and
Udobong Silas Akpan-etuk called on the royal father to use his vantage position and attract international markets where goods will come at cheaper and wholesale price to Iman Ibom, revitalize ailing small markets, provide capitals for traders as well as attract a commercial bank to the area.
In his remarks, the coordinator of Etinan Traders Union, Mr Brown Uko Isaac thanked the royal father for opening his doors to receive the traders despite the short notice.
He also appreciated the spirited effort of the royal father in standing with the transition committee chairman to ensure that a new Iman Ibom is possible.
