Etinan Council Boss Appluads Gov Umo Eno For Revamping Paint Industry

The Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Hon Uko Umoh, has commended the state governor Pastor Umo Eno PhD, for revamping moribund state owned paint industry located in the local government.

Speaking shortly after visiting the factory, Hon Uko Umoh, said the governor, being a business oriented person will ensure the paint factory when completed functions optimally for the good of the people.

The Chairman who was full of praises to the governor said the paint industry when in operation will place Etinan on the industrial map of Nigeria.

“This paint industry is one of the oldest industries in Nigeria with a global reputation. As the governor is focusing on bringing it back to life, then attention will turn to Etinan and this will bring lots of opportunities to our people.

“The people of Etinan Local Government Area appreciate this renewed interest in the paint industry. We will do all within our power to ensure this industry functions optimally”

Leading the chairman round the plant, the Delivery Advisor to the governor on Ibom Paint Limited, Hon Ime Uwah, said the former peacock paint is undergoing a rebranding process starting with the name which has been changed to Ibom Paint Limited.

Hon Uwah said the factory which will be commissioned in April, 2025 will produce up to three million liters of paint in one year.

“It is a new brand that will take over the paint market in the state and beyond. Our focus is on industrial paint and marine coating. Where you will hear more of us will be the oil companies and the marine sector”.

The chairman was taken round the offices, warehouse for finished products, raw material warehouse, canteen, the green area and the large expanse of land which will be used as the solar farm to power equipment for the paint industry.
