The Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency representative, Hon Unyime Idem, has received a pat on the back by the Akwa Ibom state chairman of PDP, Rt.Hon Aniekan Akpan for outstanding performance the National Assembly.

At a recent PDP chapter Congress in Ukanafun, the state chairman of PDP praised Idem’s contributions, highlighting his legislative achievements, including project facilitation and empowerment programmes.

He acknowledged the fact that the chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Public Procurement being the sole representative of the party in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, he has been consistent in advocating the interest of the Federal Constituency on the floor of the House.

 

In his response to the encomiums poured on him Rt.Hon. Unyime Idem expressed gratitude to Governor Umo Eno and the state chairman of PDP calling for unity among new chapter executives for effective development.

He promised continued dedication, emphasizing that his future contributions will surpass current achievements. The Congress was held across all 31 Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State.

In a related development, the lawmaker paid a condolence visit to the family of a one time chairman of Ukanafun Local Government Area,
Late Hon. Aniebiet Odung.

At the visit, the National Assembly member described the former chairman as a kind, generous and selfless man who contributed immensely to the growth of Ukanafun local government area.

Condoling the wife and children, the federal lawmaker urged the family to take solace in the fact that their late patriarch left lasting and cherished legacies, which have been etched in the history books of the Local Government Area.
