Nigeria’s D’Tigers kicked off their 2025 FIBA Men’s AfroBasket Group B campaign with a commanding 77–59 victory over Madagascar on Wednesday.

Despite a slow start and some difficulty imposing themselves in the first half, the Nigerians found their rhythm in the latter stages. Veteran guard Caleb Agada led the charge with 22 points, while Stan Okoye (13 points) and Ike Nwamu (12 points) provided crucial support to secure the win.

D’Tigers edged the first quarter 18–14 but allowed Madagascar to take the second 23–20, heading into halftime with the game finely balanced. However, a strong third quarter (17–9) and a dominant fourth (22–13) sealed the victory for the 2015 AfroBasket champions.
