The Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP) has lamented the sudden demise of her Executive Director Other Investments Barr Ben Udowa, which sad event occurred on Friday, December 20, 2024.
Breaking the news to Staff in an emergency general meeting today, the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer (MD/ CEO), Mr Imo-Abasi Jacob, expressed his deepest condolences and described the late Ben Udowa as an epitome of hardwork, dedication, capacity, and integrity, whose leadership was marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence, a passion for mentoring, and an unshakeable commitment to the advancement of the corporation.
Regretting that the Late Executive Director, having contributed so much, did not live to witness the actualisation of his lofty ideas, the MD assured the staff that AKICORP would stand by the bereaved family in their moment of grief.
The AKICORP boss used the opportunity opportunity to call on staff to pay attention to their health. He held that while death was inevitable, one could reduce the chances of early demise by embracing healthy habits, such as a balanced diet, regular exercise, rest, stress management, and avoiding harmful substances, while also cultivating a positive mindset, nurturing meaningful relationships, and engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment.
The MD went ahead to commend the staff for the diverse roles they played to ensure the success of AKICORP in 2024.
As a token of appreciation, he declared that the staff would be taking a festive break, with work resuming after the holiday celebrations.
