A’Ibom Police Command Nabs three For Armed Robbery, recovers arms

Three armed robbery suspects have been arrested by the Akwa Ibom state Police command.

The suspects who are members of a syndicate that robs and terrorize Ikot Abasi Village and it’s environs.

The arrest was made on the 1st of July,2024 at about 02:00hrs. The suspects are John Okon Anta ‘M’ Michael Osudua ‘M’ and Inyene Joseph Edet ‘M’.

The suspects allegedly attacked and robbed one man (name withheld) on gun point and carted away his QLINK Motorcycle, phones, power bank and charger.

Preliminary investigations according to a press release signed by ASP Timfon John ANIPR revealed that the suspects had earlier robbed two houses at Afaha Ikot Abasi Village and carted away cell phones and other valuable items.

The Suspects have confessed to the crime while one locally-made pistol was recovered from them. The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

The Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CP Waheed Ayilara has reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to rid the state of criminal elements and make Akwa Ibom safe for all.
