Academic activities resumes at Ewet Model Primary School September
Governor Umo Eno has given the assurance that academic activities will start within the month of September at Ewet Model Primary School, located at Uruan Street in Uyo, the State Capital.
He stated this when he embarked on an unscheduled inspection of work at the site.
Accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah the state chief executive went round the different classroom blocks and the administrative office to ascertain the progress of work.
He also directed that the school premises be levelled up to enable the channeling of water out of the premises so as to avoid flooding when it rains.
The primary school project which is handled by GAIS Engineering Construction Company will be the first primary school in Ewet community as before now pupils had to commute to neighboring communities for their primary education.
His Excellency also charged the Hon. Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebiet and her Lands and Housing counterpart, Captain Iniobong Ekong, Rtd to follow up with the contractor to ensure that everything is put in place for resumption of academic activities within the month.
An entrance road is also being constructed to grant access to the school from Uruan Street.
