AKWA IBOM ‘S FUTURE IS OUR SHARED DESTINY – AKICORP Boss
The Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer/(MD/CEO)of the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP), Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob, has urged the corporation’s management team to work together to ensure the corporation ‘s success in its mandate.
Speaking at the 72nd management meeting held today at the corporation’s conference room, Mr. Jacob emphasized that the State’s reliance on crude oil sales, currently as primary source of revenue, may not be sustainable in the future.
He noted that the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, was proactively diversifying the state’s investments into other sectors of the state economy with significant growth potential, to ensure a more stable financial future for the state and her people.
As the investment trust and holding company for all government investments in the state, Jacob reminded the managers that they bore a sacred responsibility that transcended generations. He stated, “Our role is critical in ensuring a sustainable future, one that will endure even if the crude oil reserves dwindle.”
He also emphasized that under their stewardship, it was imperative that every investment flourished stressing that the administration had a zero-tolerance policy for failure, and it was their duty to ensure that each and every company under their purview succeeds.
He further announced plans for a forthcoming management retreat, aimed at developing a comprehensive work plan that will guide the corporation’s operations and drive its success throughout the year.
